Alhamdulillah what a blessed and unforgettable evening it was! The Newmarket Islamic Centre (NMIC) hosted a Ramadan Iftar gathering that brought together community members, local leaders, and beloved guests in a spirit of unity, gratitude, and shared purpose.
From the overflowing prayer hall to the warmth of shared meals and heartfelt speeches, every moment of the evening reflected the true essence of Ramadan a time when hearts open, communities strengthen, and great projects move forward together.
A Packed Hall, A Full Heart
The evening began with a congregation that filled every corner of the prayer hall. Rows upon rows of brothers and sisters gathered to listen, reflect, and prepare their hearts for Iftar. A scholar addressed the attendees with words of inspiration and gratitude a powerful reminder of why spaces like the Newmarket Islamic Centre are so vital to the Ummah.
The sheer turnout was a testament to how deeply rooted this community is, and how eagerly they rally around a shared vision.

A Sacred Milestone: Khatam al-Quran Celebrated
Among the most spiritually significant moments of the evening was the celebration of the completion of the Holy Quran Khatam al-Quran. This blessed milestone, marked during the sacred nights of Ramadan, was a source of immense joy and spiritual elevation for everyone present.

Together We Build
As the evening drew to a close, attendees were reminded of the vision ahead a fully equipped Islamic centre that will house a masjid, educational facilities, and community spaces for the Muslim families of Newmarket and the surrounding York Region.
Building permits have been approved. Construction is beginning soon. And evenings like this one remind us all that the community behind this project is stronger than ever.
