Alhamdulillah. There is no word more fitting than gratitude as we reflect on this year’s Eid ul-Adha. Row upon row of worshippers, shoulder to shoulder, answered the call of the morning and in that moment, every year of effort, every difficulty overcome, every prayer offered in the cold and the dark felt worth it.

Today’s Eid prayer and Khutba were more than a gathering. They were a living testament to what this community is: unified, resilient, and bound together by something far greater than any building.

“Seeing our community stand together in unity is a true blessing a reminder of why this journey began and where it is leading us.”

Twelve years in the making

Twelve years is a long time to hold a dream. It is long enough to doubt, long enough to pause and long enough to grow stronger through both. What began as a shared vision for a permanent home for our community has survived every test that time could offer. And now, brick by brick, it is rising from the ground.

The walls of our new Islamic centre are no longer a blueprint or a plan. They are real. They are standing. And every stone laid is an act of collective faith a physical mark of what this ummah has given, and continues to give.

The momentum belongs to all of us

What we felt in those rows this morning that energy, that togetherness is exactly what we must carry into the next chapter. The walls are rising, but the work is not finished. Our Grand Fundraising Dinner on 28 June is the next milestone, and it belongs to every single one of you.
Whether you attend, donate, or simply spread the word you are part of completing something that will outlast all of us. A centre that future generations will pray in, learn in, and call home.
Let us carry the spirit of this Eid forward. Let us not let the momentum rest. The walls are rising let us raise them to the roof.
